Friends of Pike County Animals Humane Society, Inc.

Lost and Found Pets

Pike County does not have an animal shelter (See "How to help" and the "Animal Shelter" pages for more info) and our community has been relying on good Samaritans.

Anyone who has a pet that is lost or found in Pike and Neighboring counties is encouraged to post their info on the Friends of Pike Co. Animals Facebook site.

You should also contact the Pike county Sheriff's Department (PCSD) at 770-567-7298 to file a report.

The Pike Co. Sheriffs Dept. creates a log report, maintains the file, and can access the information in the event the pet owner contacts the PCSD.

Combined, these tow actions (FPCAHS Facebook and the PCSD report) provide a quiker response time for pet and owner reunification.

Please provide the following information when posting the info on the Facebook Site.

Lost/Found; Breed (if known); male or female; identifying marks; wearing a collar? Area was lost/found (last seen); Point of contact (name and phone number), and a good picture of the lost/found pet (if unable to upload picture/information, please email the info to friendsofpikecountyanimals@hotmail.com and with your permission we will upload the info to the Facebook site.

Please keep us posted if you are reunited with your pet or the owner claims the pet.
